Who we are
Dr. Balázs Győrffy - group leader
He has an MD, a PhD and a DSc degree. He studied medicine at the Semmelweis University Budapest and at the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg, Germany. He published over 100 scientific papers, submitted several patents and obtained doctoral degree in molecular genetics and bioinformatics. He worked several years at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany and at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He is a specialist of bioinformatical evaluation of genomic data.
Dr. Otilia Menyhárt - postdoctoral research fellow
She obtained PhD at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. Her major research focus is on identifying resistance mechanisms for ERBB family members. She is teaching at the Semmelweis University molecular stratification of CNS tumors and hormonal therapy of gynecological malignancies.
András Lánczky - informatician
Graduated at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Information Technology in 2012. His primary interest is the develoment of new analysis tools for survival analysis.
Dr. Tibor Nagy - postdoctoral research fellow
He obtained PhD in 2005 and has spent several years at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Cambridge, UK where he became an expert in the analysis of second generation sequencing data including GWAS, RNA-seq, and de novo assembly. He is also proficient in C, R, Python, Perl, Java, C Sharp, and PHP.
